How does Ocean Speedway Chowchilla sound?

Well, race fans and drivers alike are getting ready to find out.

A deal was completed on Friday between Kenny Shepherd, John Prentice and the Chowchilla Fairgrounds CEO to transfer the remaining two years of the Chowchilla Speedway lease to the Ocean Speedway operator.

In addition to the speedway lease transfer, all of the Chowchilla Speedway track support equipment and the concessions equipment were sold to the management team from the Ocean Speedway.

"The Madera Speedway is my priority and I have other business ventures, and at this point my time is much better spent on those ventures versus the Chowchilla Speedway.

"It is very important to me to have a good operator who can work well with this great fair board, CEO, and community," said Kenny Shepherd.

The website at www.racechowchilla.com will be transferred to the new buyers soon, so racers and race fans can get updates and the 2012 schedule via the same web address.
