Madera County Clerk-Recorder, Registrar of Voters Rebecca Martinez said there are approximately 635 Vote by Mail ballots and approximately 88 Provisional ballots still to be counted. She explained that after every election there are vote by mail ballots dropped off at the polling places, right up to 8 p.m. Those votes are not counted until canvas. At that time the signatures have to be verified. The eligibility has to be confirmed on provisional ballots to make sure the voter was registered.

The total ballots to be counted are 723. The number does not mean all the ballots are valid.

The Registrar of Voters had up to 28 days to confirm the vote.

He still strongly believes in the issues. "We have to protect this county for generations to come," he stated. "The Supervisor race will continue and voters need to pay attention to our surroundings and our way of life."
