Life Change Church honored local police officer and community service officers at their Family Gathering Sunday morning. During the morning worship service Pastor Mac Hill called the officers present to come forward to be acknowledged. He spoke of the hardships that face officers on a daily basis and encouraged his congregation to uphold the officers in prayer. Each of the officers was presented a framed Certificate of Appreciation. Each officer was given a long-seemed red rose for their spouse.

On a large board in front of the church a copy of the Police Officer's Prayer was displayed. Pastor Mac read the prayer. Also on board was a card with the prayer and the name of an officer or community service officer at the bottom. Mac explained that the members of the congregation were going to choose a card and adopt that officer. Those who chose a card were encouraged to pray daily for that officer and their families. At the end of the service all the cards had been selected.

Pastor Fred Delano also spoke to the officers and thanked them for their dedication and commitment to the community. "It is not an easy job," he stated. He touched on various aspects of being a police officer and how they could make a difference in a life.

Following the morning service a pot-luck luncheon was held in Faith Hall.
