Art Society planning fundraiser

Date set for Super Bowl Sunday.

The Chowchilla Union High School chapter of the National Art Honor Society is raising funds to take a trip to Disneyworld in Orlando, Fla. to participate in the Disney Youth Educational Series, or YES program in Animation. During the "Disney Animation Magic" program the students will spend an entire day shadowing a Disney animator learning about the complete processes of animation. The students will learn about such things as character development and the use of storyboards to present an idea. The students will also get hands on experience, being able to try their own hand at animation.

To help earn money for the trip, a Super Bowl Sunday Sparerib Dinner is being planned for Sunday, Feb. 7. The take home dinner will include a whole rack of barbecued spareribs, beans, salad and rolls for four at a cost of $30. The drive-through-only dinner will be available at the fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will go to help the 16 students pay for their air-fare and hotel accommodations.
