FFA Silva wins 'Golden Bear' at California State Fair

Le Grand High School student is premiere exhibitor.

Jesse Silva of the Le Grand FFA earned the coveted "Golden Bear", being named the Premier FFA Exhibitor at the 2009 California State Fair.

Silva exhibited her Registered Hampshire sheep with 10 of 12 class winners and having three of the four champions at the Western Regional Junior Hampshire Sheep show, at the California State Fair.

Silva was interviewed by State Fair staff and State FFA officers to win the outstanding sheep exhibitor. She then competed against all other FFA outstanding exhibitors from avian science to livestock to mechanical sciences to become the premier exhibitor. She was evaluated on the quality of her animals, educational display, stall cleanliness and her interviewing ability on livestock and agriculture issues and topics.

Silva is the daughter of Nick and Debbie Farinelli of Le Grand. Her FFA advisor is Richard Jacobsen of Le Grand High School.
