Chowchilla FFA chapter 'Scoop'
Activities and fundraisers planned.

National Convention is going on this week. Five members and advisor Dawn Stornetta left on Sunday, Oct. 18, and they will return on Oct. 25. Also, member Ariel Barcelos had the honor of attending as a national delegate. The national delegate gets to vote for the National FFA Officers as well as other matters. Only about 50 members from the state of California have the privilege of attending as a delegate.
Freshman which applied to be Greenhand officers had an interview on Oct. 8, during late start. The students voted for Greenhand officers on Oct. 12. Ten members applied and will know what office they received at the Greenhand/Chapter Banquet on Nov. 10.
The cotton judging team participated in the Corcoran Cotton Contest on Oct. 17. The contest was held at Corcoran High School. The cotton judging team consists of Makenna Lasiter, Samuel Mercado and Maram Misleh.
Fundraisers:
Poinsettias are on sale now. The fundraiser started on Oct. 16 and will end on Nov. 6. Each poinsettia is being sold for $12 and each member has to sell two poinsettias in order to receive an activity point.
Beef jerky sales ended on Oct. 16, they started on Sept. 28 and it was a great success. We plan on doing the fundraiser again next year.
Also on Oct. 16, was the homecoming football game and we were selling snow cones. There are still two more games in the season, on Oct. 23 and 30, so come buy a snow cone and support the FFA.
Wreath sales start on Oct. 19 and end on Nov. 12. Each member has to sell a wreath in order to receive an activity point and the wreaths range from $27-$40.
