The Division of Continuing and Global Education at California State University, Fresno offers continuing education courses, workshops, seminars, and travel study programs, all of which are open to the public. Upcoming classes include:
Faith Community Nursing Course offered.
Faith Community Nursing Basic Preparation is a course designed to promote health and healing from a faith perspective. This seminar for nurses will address health and faith bases for practicing, advocating, facilitating and teaching.
Instructor for the course is Sylvia L. Miller , RN, Ed.D. This course is scheduled for Oct. 13 through Oct. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Room 140 of the university's Kremen Education Building. Fee for the course is $230 non-credit, or $420 for two units of academic credit. Optional CA-BRN contact hours are available for an additional $15. Preregistration is recommended.
Stress Prevention for Educators
Stress Prevention for Educators is a two-day workshop that will show you how to awaken a healthy, wise and common sense perspective in yourself and in other people regardless of circumstances.
The instructor for the course is Nazario Carrillo, M.S. The class is held on Oct. 9, from 4 to 10 p.m. and Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 140 of the Kremen Education Building. The cost is $190 for one unit of academic credit. Preregistration is recommended.
Learn Project Management
Project Management techniques such as time management, scheduling, Work Breakdown Structure development and organizational issues will be covered in Fundamentals of Project Management. The course will also include an overview of software tools supporting Project Management.
The course takes place on two Fridays, Sept. and Oct. 2, from 8 a.m. to noon. The fee is $240 non-credit and the instructor is Tomasz Wielicki, Ph.D., professor of business at Fresno State.
A follow-up course, Advanced Project Management and Project, Risk Management, is scheduled for Oct. 16 and 23, from 8 a.m. to noon with Dr. Wielicki. The fee for the second course is $300.
