Alview School selected May Students of the Month

Alview School teachers named the May Students of the Month to end the 2008-2009 school year. The students included: Emily Weatherman, Jaquelin Martinez, Mario Ortiz, Megan Heffernan, Jessica Aguilar, Alyssa Hernandez, Breannah Herzog, Fabian Zapien and Marcos Zaragoza.

Emily Weatherman is a kindergarten Student of the Month in Ms. Heffernan's class. She is the daughter of Jessica and Dan Heffernan.

Emily enjoys doing her work at school. Her favorite person is her mom. Her favorite animal is a zebra.

Emily likes her teacher because she is nice.

If she could give her mommy and daddy anything she would give them a treadmill because they like to run.

When she grows up she would like to be a doctor.

"Emily has been trying really hard to do her best. She has been a wonderful helper in class this year. She is a joy to have in class," stated her teacher.

Jaquelin Martinez is also a kindergarten Student of the Month. She is a student in Mrs. Alvarez's class.

Jaquelin is the daughter of Lorenzo and Emma Martinez.

Jaquelin said what she likes best about school is painting pictures.

Her favorite person is her dad. Her favorite animal is a dog.

She said the perfect gift for her mommy and daddy would be a hug.

"Jaquelin has worked really hart this year. She is doing a great job and is a joy to have in the classroom," stated Mrs. Alvarez.

Mario Ortiz is a first grade Student of the Month in Mrs. Robbins' class.

He is the son of Mario and Elizabeth Ortiz.

What he likes best about school is "recess because it is fun."

His favorite person is Aaron because he is his best friend.

His favorite animal is a giraffe because a giraffe is so big.

If he could give his mom a special gift he would give her flowers because, "my mom likes flowers."

When Mario grows up he would like to be a vet.

"Mario is a very good student. He always gets his work done. Mario works well with his classmates. He respects the feelings of others and he respects his school," stated Mrs. Robbins. "I have enjoyed having Mario in my class. He has a great sense of humor."

The Student of the Month in Mrs. Trost's first grade class is Megan Heffernan.

She is the daughter of Jon and Gina Heffernan. When asked what she liked best about school, she stated, "I like writing in my math book."

Her favorite people are her grandma and grandpa.

Her favorite animals are horses.

If she could give her parents a special gift she would give her mom a necklace and bracelet. She would give her dad a key chain because he has a lot of keys.

When she grows up she wants to be a doctor.

"Megan is a good student. She likes to help her classmates. Megan is very trustworthy. She always does her homework and works hard," stated her teacher.

Jessica Aguilar was selected as the second grade Student of the Month in Mrs. Paine's class.

Jessica is the daughter of Jesus and Griselda Aguilar.

Jessica's favorite subject in school is math. Her favorite animal is a horse. Her favorite person is Mayra because she always plays with her.

Jessica said, "I like my teacher because she is nice."

If she could give her mom the perfect gift it would be a necklace.

When Jessica grows up she wants to be a teacher.

After school Jessica likes to play with her Barbies.

"Jessica has worked hard all year and has improved in reading. She is a wonderful student and is always on task," stated her teacher.

Alyssa Hernandez is also a second grade Student of the Month. She is a student in Mrs. Blehm's class.

Alyssa is the daughter of Zeferino and Alvara Hernandez.

What Alyssa likes best about school is doing her homework.

Her favorite person is her sister, Aline.

Her favorite animal is a black horse.

If Alyssa could give her parents any gift she wanted to, she would give them chocolate.

When she grows up she wants to be a farmer.

"Alyssa is a bright student. She loves to read. She is polite and will behaved in class," stated her teacher. "I'm very proud of her accomplishments and I will miss her next year."
