Chowchilla 4-H News
By Ryan Lewis, Reporter
Hi! This is Ryan Lewis reporting on the final meeting of the year for the Chowchilla 4-H Club. Our club held its regular meeting on Thursday, June 11. Joshua Gwartney led the flag salute and Kyle Beels led the 4-H Pledge. Club Secretary, Sydney Schnoor, read the minutes of the last meeting and club Treasurer, Kyle Beels, gave his report on our club's finances. Our 4-H Record Books were due at this meeting. Anyone not turning in a record book will not be in good standing with the club and will not be able to join 4-H next year.
Bo Beels, our club director, reminded everyone that if they had money from the candy sale fundraiser they needed to turn it in at the end of this meeting. 4-H Summer Camp will be held July 12 - 16 this year. Any member going to camp that has not paid must pay their balance due at the end of this meeting.
Results from the elections held at our May meeting were announced. Our club's officers for next year will be as follows:
President - Sydney Schnoor; Vice-President - Kelsey Beach; Secretary - Leighton Dill; Treasurer - Kyle Beels; Reporter - Jonathan Gwartney; Historian - Morgan Dill; Corresponding Secretary - Ally Tomlinson; Sergeant at Arms - Ty Hickman; Song & Games - Ryan Lewis; and Host/Hostess - Samantha Pierini. Congratulations to our new club officers!
Our club director, Bo Beels, announced that she needed parent volunteers to help with Record Book judging for both our club and for the county. Some parents volunteered and Bo thanked them. She also invited parents who were interested in becoming group leaders to see her after the meeting. Bo reminded members that our club T-shirts were still available and only cost $10 each. If you plan on showing at the Madera Fair in the fall you will need to contact your leader or Bo this summer for entry forms.
All leaders and members will be notified by mail in August with the date of our club's sign-up/first meeting for next year. Current members will be sent enrollment forms in the mail. If any members know of people who are not yet members but want to enroll for next year, please get their name and address to Bo so she can send them forms. If a new member wants to show at the Madera Fair they must be enrolled in our club by July 1st.
